I know that Ciaran has already posted birthday wishes but I could not resist putting up some further photos that I had not come across before to mark the special year. The first shot includes the great man, Guiseppe Bertone himself!! With regards, Matthew T.

Very nice Matthew. Pity Bertone has now gone bust and is in the hands of the receivers. Hopefully a buyer can be found, but it looks bleak for this unique design house.
I wonder how they would now design Citroens.

I have been running them for 18 years, if I can resurrect the white one we will go on a bit longer.

Thanks chaps and Peter that might be a record for the longest ownership of XMs, on this site at least!! Hopefully Bertones will find a buyer Russ as you suggest and the last couple of newflashes I saw sounded quite hopeful. It just occured to me that the first photo might be good for a caption competition as the great man does look rather thoughtful, if slightly grumpy. My suggestion is 'I always did prefer the S1 mirror design!' With regards, Matthew T.

Brilliant....
What about.. " There are not enough creases in this bonnet for my liking" or " This flat bonnet makes the perfect mirror, where did my toupee go!!"

"Maybe if they weren't all the same colour I could tell if this is mine..."

Great stuff chaps and do keep them coming!! I agree with Russ that the front end of the car does seem to be getting rather close scrutiny! By the way the picture came off the Bertone Company website and seemed to be the only one including Signor Guiseppe. Regards, Matthew T.
