Just a line to say that I've joined the team again having won the auction for Remy of Medway's magenta base model TD. Can't wait to pick it up!

The very same winning combination Peter, together with Bosch pump too I understand!
I can scarcely remember seeing a base spec series 1 (although I think I saw a car at Paul's in the same spec) but I don't suppose there will be anything I particularly miss over a higher spec car. With any luck it won't have ABS too!

dont assumme base spec means no ABS .. it doesnt!
It was ALWAYS an option on base models, and most got it as I THINK it was not an expensive in comparison option.
Ive got a Magenta Base spec 2.1 TD Auto here, on an L reg with Bosch, and it HAS got ABS..
Remy sent me some pics of that car, it has plastic inlet manifold from early Lucas cars but a Bosch Pump on it. Was VERY tempted myself because it has a full MOT.. but alas, no money..

A plastic manifold with a Bosh pump indicates the car was built just before EGR was fitted, or the manifold has been changed.
