A general tour in Belgium.

I always like watching videos of the wheel movement when diving. Sad...?? LOL

A compilation of shots. Note the drilling of the hydractive "soft" dampers at 2:09.

Fascinating - I assume the drilling expands the opening making the ingress of LHM more rapid, so a much greater damping effect? The very nice chap (forgive me, my memory's like my Range Rover, a sieve) who took me out in his V6 S2 at Wellingborough had done the same and the result was really very pleasing.

Had Kevin drilled the centre dampers, or just fitted different corner spheres, with greater volume and larger dampers?

Drilling the damper orifice will reduce damping, giving a softer, but less controlled, ride.

He'd drilled them as well as fitting larger volume spheres. It certainly made for the best ride I've had in an XM.

Kevin had drilled the corner dampers, this video shows the centre hydraulic block being drilled.

So what effect does that have?

Another video showing the benefits of hydraulic/gas suspension.

Drilling the corner dampers will make the car spongy in all situations and induce roll, drilling the centre dampers will make the car softer only in soft mode, but still well controlled in hard mode.

Excellent vids. Enjoyed those. :D I noticed some interesting variations in there, grey dash, low spec versions ect.

Don't want an Audi 100 any more though!

I love this type of vid, thanks very much for sharing.

Not getting what they´re doing in the last exercise though, are they trying to brake and turn simultaneously, demonstrating how ordinary cars can´t make it, or just braking and the cars turn around just due to the surface difference? Looks like they´ve cheated with the CX in that one -he barely brakes and then drives to the dry patch and then brakes???
