Meteor Grey or Graphite Metallic?

Although I had understood Roberts former 2.0si was in Meteor Grey to me it looks more like Graphite. I know the colours are quite similar and maybe charts are deceptive but what does everyone else think? The Meteor Grey appears more blue to my eyes. Regards, Matthew T.

Robert's car was meteor, you have a poor photograph of it there.

Well this is where I get a little confused. Paul at CXM said to me his Meteor SD is the same colour as mine. And said the colour code ETC was the same. But to me his is more dark charcoal grey and mine is a curious mix of blue, green and grey....well you know Matthew you have the same colour in your fleet. At Halfords having the paint mixed, although it wasn't right, different colours to Paul's mix went in mine.

I have an XM book with press pics of a darker grey car, but also it has pics of the standard lighter grey that seemed to be popular along with mandarin when they were new.

I would say...having nearly bought Roberts Si originally, it has a tinge of blue in it. Graphite to me is a greener grey, but slightly lighter.
Mine whatever it is...Basalt, Silicon, something in Italian...is...well strange! It is all of them.... to me anyway.

How come you are so sure Will and the photographs is clear enough I think? The catalogue picture is definitely not the same colour as Robert's car and there are no other options apart from Meteor and Memphis! Regards, Matthew T.

Our cars are certainly Silicon Grey Russ as that colour is listed in my February 1992 brochure and both our handbooks state Silicon I think. By 1992 both Meteor and Graphite has gone, although the latter colours appear very similar to Silicon and Mercury respectively. With regards, Matthew T.

I remember we had a similar discussion when we first picked up my Prestige - paint code is also ETW...

Its definitely Meteor Matthew. I bought paint for it on a couple of occasions, and the paint I ordered was the meteor code.

My good friend Roger Porter now has my old Si. I sold it when I got my low mileage Sd which I am using this week; I like the Sd fuel economy, but miss the Si's go!

This is the most recent pic I have of it on a chance encounter with Campbell's estate before he bought it.

My last pics of it.

Apologies guys and especially to Robert and Will as the colour does look much more convincing in the other photos helpfully posted. I think Meteor is probably my favourite after Platinum! With regards, Matthew T.

According to the DVLA site it hasn't been on the road since December 2007. :o
