Your ultimate XM.....

I was dreaming about building my ultimate XM show car....I'd so love to do this too....I think it would storm the field ;)

My XM,....or a similar series 1, fully re-sprayed in metallic dark brown...with brown colour coded wheel trims, leaving the wheel bolt steel inserts in their brushed steel finish....the whole car perfectly machined to a mirror like finish, with an interior trimmed in beige leather.

I know you'll think, brown! no way! but I'll find a picture and post it up to show what colour I mean..

So the question is, if money was no object, what ultimate XM would you build? ;)

For me Vince it would have to be a lhd PRV V624v, but I am not entirely sure about the beige leather interior. I might be persuaded on the bronze outside, although I would generally prefer to stay original with both the colour and wheel treatment. The attached photo shows a 2.0sei turbo that I saw at the CCC National about three years ago that was in a very unusual metallic dark brown. With regards, Matthew T.

I will probably get strung up for this but i would love to have a MK1 hatch, in either manderin or that grey fully loaded with leather, digital climate/AC, auto box, cruise etc etc with a 2.3t 4cyl saab engine slightly tweaked to around 250bhp............................. sorry

One without a sunroof  Im feeling that tonight as mine is leaking in with all the rain

Im all with you on the original factory spec stuff also...im a big advocate of OEM cars, but this is a/my "dream" thread :P

The brown colour combo i meant was like this e28 below.....its where i got the inspiration from, perhaps brown matching wheel trims may be too much? but look how Citroen have pushed the colour combo thing to the extreme succesfully in the past...orange GS....Green CX etc

I think this paint finish looks amazing imo 8-) Imagine an early xm "finished" to this degree.....i think it would be seriously 8-)

The colour of the BM is quite handsome I must admit Vince, including alongside the tan/beige interior"!! I attach a shot of the 24v at ICCCR. Regards, Matthew T.

I like that deep rich brown colour, I see where your coming from Vince... but not with beige interior, although it is the perfect match. Maybe a very dark chocolate brown for me. But there was a rather nice pic of a 'coffee' coloured XM someone posted up here somewhere. Like that.

For me Mk1 for sure....I agree with Dean, Mandarin, or the original grey colour. But I wouldn't mind Sable or 'Coffee'.
Black leather, Italia alloys and V6. All standard. Don't care about the sunroof. (but actually a fixed pain of glass for light could be good). Not sure about auto or manual. But it has to have a fully blacked out rear light panel, like they originally came with!

I do love the cream leather in the mk1 interior Matthew. Very nice.

Thats a gorgeous interior Matthew....the kind of feel id be going for....looks like a very nice place to be :)

Im off to bed now to dream about winning the lottery and creating one.....a V6 24v fully restored version would be the business....manual conversion of course because money wouldnt be an issue.....

Ah but to dream....... ;)

That cream interior looks lovely, I'm bored of black interiors and like the new Chestnut colours.

Brown cars are making a comeback.

Fancy this?
