Photos were taken in and around Rannoch Moor and Pitlochry (Tayside), over a New Year stay at the Rannoch Moor Hotel, winter of 2001. Although all the main roads had been cleared and gritted, there were plenty of local roads to give the XM a 'spin' - which it just didn't! I've never known a FWD big saloon have so much stability and traction, even on standard Michelin Primacys (now disappeared). The one-day 520-mile drive from Surrey was what the XM was built for.
