On the road again.

Hi all,

The first of the month finally rolled around so I taxed the SED. Boy did she smoke, especially when comming onto boost. I think the long lay up followed by lots of time ticking over whilst playing with the A/C must have coated the exhaust with a generous coating of junk. Over the course of 50 miles or so the suspension has freed up nicely. Currently she's running on 50/50 - SVO/Dino, I wanted to use Bio but the local supplier had sold out, at £1.29/Ltr it doesn't surprise me. The SVO bought from Makro cost £19.98 for 20 Ltrs.

Jobs to do and/or parts to buy are -

External temp sensor - I'm fed up with the flashing right hand display, the sensors dead.
Front ABS sensor - I need to get a grip on the whole ABS thing, Bendix, Teves and the other particulars. I need to know what sensor I need so that I can save up...
Rear hatch lock solenoid - needs replacing.
Paintwork - peeling laquer...

Good job spring is here.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Good to get the old girl back on the road again.

You will have Bendix ABS.

Temp sensors are available from Citroen as I believe they are the same part as used in the more modern stuff. £20 odd from memory rings a bell.

Hatch solenoids are common with Xantias as well.

Robert

Thanks for the info Robert.

I'll check Ebay for Xantias being scrapped.

It's nice to have her back on the road but after driving the Prius for months it's a bit of a shock, twice the number of pedals, heavier steering, etc. It's like driving a car....

Steve.

But at least it's got some suspension.
