The one design feature that annoyed me about the 605, was it had tiny rear lights, which looked cheap. Larger more expensive looking clusters would have transformed it. It had a slightly odd dimensions too, seemed a bit stretched at the back. It obviously had to make do with the XM's large wheelbase. Suited the XM not the Pug.

It's worth noting that for all it's blandness, 605 still outsold its replacement 607 by 1.2 : 1

Safrane outsold Vel Satis - 8.3 : 1

SAAB 95 and 9000 sales were near par

Citroen XM against C6 a bit skewed, but I've arrived at a figure of 24 : 1 :o
Over the lifetime of C6 in the UK, they only managed to register approx. 60 a year...

That isn't surprising at all about the XM and C6. The XM I think sold very well here initially. Then it got is reputation and it all went wrong!

The C6 is a tragedy. I really really want one, but not at that mpg and co2 cost, the absence of an estate/hatchback being the final straw. If I won the lottery I'd order a 3 litre one tomorrow, stuff an Aston etc.

I couldn't live with a C6. They seem cramped and impractical. I'd rather a Thesis, 607 or a Signum (apart from the suspension they have all nice attributes of a latter-day Prestige!).

I thought the 3.0 litre diesel had very good C02 output which dramatically reduced tax and the fuel consumption was okay. I think Robert is getting a good range from his C5 and they are basically the same car.

I didn't find the C6 cramped or small. The boot was okay, but not huge. If it were design in the same vain as the Audi A7, it might be a different story. The thing that ruined the C6 for me, was the interior dash design was dull, and the exterior detailing was a bit clunky in places. But it was a missed opportunity. A shame, however at least we got the car in RHD. They might not have even bothered.....

I'll just have to get a 3 litre retrofit then.

I could get depressed about there being no large old school Citroens left and the sell out to steel, but life's too short.

The early Ford /PSA 2.7 V6 HDi engine has adismal tax rateing...

The later 3.o PSA/Ford V6 engine has far better tax rateing, and better fuel consumption.. and more power!
