Stainless steel clutch mechanism "quadrant" replacement

Post by colinxm » Thu Oct 07, 2010 8:25 pm

Hi all, as promised I've replicated the crappy, plastic quadrants in 316 stainless.

These will outlive the life of the car ;)

Anyone that wants one please send pm including name and address to post to. Price will be £25.00 plus postage, this might sound a little steep but I've used a considerable amount of time in producing these.

Cheers, Colin.P

Hi Ciaran,
It's a replacement for the cheap/poor, nylon/plastic bell-crank that's part of the clutch cable assembly that take's the cable thro' 90 degree's at the bulkhead entry that often fail's on a manual car which are cable operated, (that's another reason for having 2.5 TD, as there hydraulic) see THIS thread for more info !

:D

Aha the famous plastic 'clutch clip' you used to hear non-Citroen fans ranting about.
Cheers for the explanation :D

Would they fit the Xantia Colin? You might be on to a nice little earner here......

Is there a problem with the PM and email system? I have tried to contact Colin re buying a quadrant but it appears that the messages have not gone.
Colin - have you received anything?

Hi Ken,

Should be working, do you get an error message or timeout or anything, or does the message go but Colin appears not to get it?

I'm going to send you a test PM now, see if you can reply to me :)

Hi Ciaran,

The Xantia suffers from a different clutch cable clip failure. The clip that attaches the cable to the pedal often breaks.
