Help needed

Is there anyone in the Gloucester area would be able to either collect some strut tops for me or even remove them off a doner car before it is crushed. This of course assumes they are worth having as they have some rust, but only surface apparently.
The car is a1993 metallic grey S1 2.0 SEi and will go to the crusher within the next few days. It has leather and wobbly web alloys if anyone is interested.
The chap with it doesn't normally break any bits off, just weighs in the whole car.
It even has tax and MOT so needs to secure over about £220 or so to get the whole car.

Seems a shame to see a legal car crushed; thought I'd seen the back of that with the scrappage.

Will the strut tops be right off a 2.0i if you're fitting them on your 2.1td? Is the car an auto or a
manual and "grey" could be a variety of Xm colour's I'm after some ETW wings, doors and nosecone
and it's a dark blue/grey...
Like the sound of a set of wobbly webs for one of my S2's - any idea of condition and tyres?

Apparently the wheels and tyres are good, though the tyres are budget brands.
I thought the 2.1 strut tops were different but on checking I believe them to be the same.

I suspect it's a manual. ETW is Mercury Grey Metallic, which sounds likely.
I'll ring him tomorrow and check the paint code. The car is a cheap auction car and as far as I know has no faults.

Christ if this was a BX there'd be an outcry! OK, I'm not offering but for £220 with Tax and ticket, it's got to be worth saving????

It's not a turbo CT is it? Please do let me know about the colour code and manual/auto tomorrow.
The ETW is a colour I rarely ever see so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just silver or grey. Sod's Law
says if it's the right colour it'll be badly scratched, dented and or have rusty bodywork.
Mind, my being a manual s1.5 fan, at the asking price it sounds promising as a going concern
rather than a donor for panels or strut tops?!!

I totally agree with Citroenesque. Thinking this through, I'd love another ETW saloon 2.0SEi!!
Can't bear to see a potentially decent car being scrapped. I may have to dig out and offer
a pair of strut tops to spare the car being weighed in or ripped apart...

I don't want a petrol - I want a diesel 2.1TD manual like the two I already have, but the estate version ...
