Hi all
does anyone know any decent scrapyards anywhere in the north of the Pas de Calais and down into Normandie. I'm on the look out for a set of alloys and some other french spares off an XM - there are more there so the scrappies must be full of them.

I don't know how your French is Campbell, but you're looking for a "Casse" (breakers).
If you are proficient in French, take a look at leboncoin.fr small ads, and see if there are people selling stuff that you want in this area.
What are you after incase anyone here can sort you out. But I love French scrap yards, they're full of our favourite cars!

I love Leboncoin - it is the only place I can find parts for my Mochet Camionette,
je voudrais:
cinq jantes alu pour un Peugeot 605 et aussi un Citroen XM
sièges en cuir ou intérieur en cuir
et
un berline avec hayon arrière dans le blanc pour une série une parce que j'aime le spoiler
prices for alloy wheels are cheaper on leboncoin

You'll manage fine!
Aileron or bequet is spoiler.
Garnitures de portes, are door cards, don't forget the accoudoir central, centre armrest. And don't forget the side bolsters of the back seat!
It might be worth looking on the Planete Citroen forum. People post details of cars they're breaking, or parts they want to sell.

How big is this camper if the local yard has a set of 5 alloys, a tailgate and a full leather interior!?

the camper is a sensible size. It should be as it is a Mercedes 416cdi 4.6 tonner.
The garage will be empty apart from a scooter and two bikes (and lots of wine)
Oh, the only problem will be getting a Citroen HY back home ...

Ohh you're going to have a go at a nice classy French Cmaper conversion? Or something to transport Microcars?
I love H Vans.

SWMBO doesn't 'get' H Vans - but I keep looking longingly at one - I need to stop paying for the current motorhome so I can afford a toy like that. A camper conversion would be cool but I think I'd want the lwb model. There's a gorgeous one on leboncoin - a six wheeler with an aerodynamic front and a whole back end that comes off. I like scrapyards too - they're always full of interesting things to see.
