On my car I have a silver blanking plate on the passenger side scuttle area - what is it for?
My best guess.
There is a large rubber bung (70x$0mm) in the bulkhead between the engine and the LHM tank.
This is where the two pipes fit through the bulkhead on an Aircon fitted XM.
Hole is punched as standard on all XM body shells.
