Hi all
I have a 1999 Diesel Xm VSX Estate with 80K done and if you hold the steering wheel lightly there appears to be a slight, but definate pull to the left - any thoughts before I start investigating - recently passed the MOT

Check for wear in the wishbone bushes.

Rear trailing arm bearings worn acting as slight rudder to forward wheels. Could be one or both sides.
Slightly dragging brake caliper MOT notwithstanding.

I have two that both pull to the right, I haven't been able to find anything wrong. If the pull is different between acceleration and braking, possible bushes but mine isn't.

Does your XM have daravi ?? I can detail how to setup the straight line running if it does.

Shane, nice idea but I wouldn't bet on a '99 TD estate having DIRAVI never mind it being RHD.

As said, check the rear bearings then have the car 4 wheel aligned, it will find any fault. Citroens normally track very straight and true.

Hi Guys,
He didn't list where he lives.... If it had daravi, that would very easily cause the effect of pulling off center strongly in either direction, just by being setup incorrectly.
I wouldn't be to fussed about Daravi on an XM..... Wasn't it 4turns lock to lock (or something stupidly ridiculous like that). What's the point of fitting daravi and making the steering so bloody slow and shitty no-one will like it ?? That's like fitting high pressure brakes, then putting a damn spring under the brake pedal

The utter stupidity of it defies belief.

Hi all
The car only has the sensation of slight pulling to the left in normal driving, you can feel it in the steering wheel and you tend to be holding down with the right hand - heavy braking is straight ahead. I am going to fit two new tyres and will then have the tracking checked and post the result. Car is in Borehamwood - Hertfordshire
Thanks for the replies
