Should you ever get the urge to put your oily and dirty gearbox in the dishwasher while your missus is away - DON'T ! you won't believe the mess and the gearbox will still not be clean.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

You should've loaded in the pots as well, then you could've convinced the Wife you really were doing her a good turn.

Hi Peter, No no nooo... not a good idea at all. My wife's currently visiting family in the uk so she's blissfully unaware ;) :D

Dieselman, the crockery that I put in afterwards came out with a lovely black, grimey finish - rinse aid doesn't always do what it says on the tin :oops:

I have been known to boil thermostats up in her best saucepans :D. She doesn't read the forum I suppose. :o

Nope, she'll never look here and after a couple of hours with degreaser i think it's all under control now - except for the smell... :roll:

Colin, you fool :shock:, it's cylinder heads in the dishwasher :roll: .

Gearboxes go in the washing machine - with pre-wash and fast spin.......and don't forget to tumble dry.

Any washing machine repair experts in the house ? the tumble drier is in need of some panel work now too :shock:
