Door locks interchangeable?

Hey guys quick question, will the lock barrels from a later xm fit in the earlier models?

Yes, they are the same locks.

The ignition lock changed from Simplex to Bendix (Iirc) at Rp 6078 and the number of leads out of the switch also changed.
Simplex type has 1 grey + 2 black connectors
Bendix type has 1 grey + 1 black + 1 brown connector.
Afaik, physically the locks are the same, so with either changing the lock barrel, or switch, or a bit of wiring, one could make either work.

Thanks for the info! I take it the lock barrels is just held in with a torx bit it something so that it'd just pop out and go in the other?

Cut the ty-wrap binding the cables to the column, insert the key, turn to position 2 (iirc), depress the spring loaded pip and pull the barrel out.
