Chaps,

Does anyone know if XM 15 " rims will fit the CX? I have a set of 15 " Xantia rims with good tyres (18(9)5/65R15), and I was thinking of sticking them on my spare XM steel rims to possibly use on the CX.

The CX in question is a 1984 CX 20. All the effects on the speedo don't concern me. The series 1 CX speedo is hardly going to be accurate as it is anyway! Its whether there will be enough room.

Nope - they're 5x PCD 108 and the Cx is 5x PCD 98 and Xantia are x4 stud 108

Interesting! I remember the CX with C6 rims, and assumed they bolted on.

Thanks Andrew,

That clears that one up. So I'll be sticking with the standard rims.

Now the next question. I have a set of the old Reflex Plastic wheel trims I was going to stick on it, but I don't have a full compliment of these fixings that clip into the centre of the rim, which the wheel trim is bolted onto. CX Basis are pricks, and are selling the fixing for €20!!! Are these the same for the GS, Visa etc from the same era? The wheel trim is €70 from CX basis as well! I got a new one from Triple A on ebay, for less than £7 delivered home!

At Citromobile last year, I saw a XM with C6 rims on it. I thought they were hideous on the XM.

Can't say for the Visa (though I'd expect it'd be the same 3 stud Gs wheel) and the support nut
is a different fitment completely and in every way!!

The Cx rims are difficult to replace with wheels being an odd size (why am I not surprised)
but the world and his wife share the same 5x 108 PCD pattern as the Xm. So, the C6 rims
will be the match certainly although I'm not sure myself they'll look right as I do recall a
picture with an Xm wearing some; they're 16/17" aren't they so a firmer ride isn't really
necessary or desirable.

Bugger, I'll get them eventually. There was me trying to do things on the cheap, sticking steels and those trims on it instead of spending money getting the alloys refurbished. Well its a long way off being ready for tyres anyway, so I have time to source some.
