Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

Is Noz still around?

Post by dturbovts172 » Fri Aug 22, 2025 9:59 am

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well. My son has been posting a bit on here after picking up his 2.5TD XM, which we just got MOT'd this week. We are in Central Scotland and are aware of the infamous Noz, who is not far from us. I was hoping to reach out to him for something, but can only find historical presence on his old site. I emailed the admin of the old site in case he was still seeing emails for that address, but not heard back, so wondered if he was either on this site somewhere, can't find a Noz in the members list though, or if anyone was able to contact him at all?

Thanks!

Craig.

Hi Craig,

To my knowledge, Noz / Norrie, has never registered on or used this site.

This site initially came about, because the original Club-XM.com site that was hosted by Noz, went down for a long period of time (in 2008 I believe) and members were unable to get a hold of Noz or anyone else associated with the site.

I built this one, intending it as a stop-gap and somewhere where the community could congregate until things were resolved with the original .com site.

Unfortunately the situation with Noz's site being down, continued for well over a year, so people then assumed that it would not be coming back, and the vast majority then migrated to this site.
One day, the .com site suddenly came back to life, however nearly all the original users had re-established themselves here in the interim and we had built up a significant base of information and technical resources for the XM.

As a result, the volume of use on the original .com site never really recovered to pre-downtime levels.

Unfortunately I have no contact details for Norrie. I was about to say one place you might find him was the original XM-L Yahoo Groups mailing list, where a lot of us started life, but I see now those were decommissioned in 2020!

Another member here may well have a way of getting in touch.

Beyond that, you may need to refer to your own local knowledge, from memory, Norrie worked for an architects firm, his Email address on the mailing lists, I recall being something like 'Norrie@Hirford' or Hurford, or similar.... that may give you something to go on.

I hope you manage to track him down.

Ciarán
