Is that Xantia roof painted, or is it some form of Vinyl wrapping?
What way did they do it for the large C piller? Is it black too?

Re: White XM from Malaysia
It's been totally painted with a metallic gunmetal dark grey and lacquer and it's been done very well actually!
They've even done the surrounds of all the doors to suit the black cabin look!
I've got a piccy of the car from the side somewhere (lurking in the distance). Basically the line runs horizontally
in a soft curve from the rear hatch to the top of the side window level like a convertible hard top. I'm not sure
I like it as it breaks up the strong C pillar "graphic" in the lines of the Xantia which I like. This Activa has just
covered 68k miles though so I'm keeping it!

Hahaha, Andrew, Don't get me started, but you did get started!
The winters in Hiroshima probably aren't as cold as where you reside, but at temperatures around zero the seats heat up in less than 2 minutes. You could always wear wool underwear and don't tell me the fabric upholstery is much more pleasant at sub zero temperatures. Slide around on 'the damn things' indicates more than 'spirited driving', or synthetic fibre pants or excessive grease on the seat, or . . . Advice: wear proper pants, clean the seats. No, never mind. Our cars are equipped with different upholstery so we can make a personal choice. We're entitled to freedom of speech (and choice), but it would sound nicer if we said, "I think ..., in my opinion ..., etc." Or is this always implied here? Did I myself always observe this rule? Uhhh ... Whatever. I've owned about 40 different cars with different kinds of upholstery over the past 50 years, in different climates, and for me (I said it: for me) leather is it for me. Heated/cooled or not. Animal lovers may not like it, but it is the most comfortable to man (I (we) think), because, yes, it feels natural. Do we have leather couches/chairs at home? Yes, but that is different. Oh?
I've heard the argument many times in Europe: "We hate leather car interiors because they are cold in winter and hot in summer." Asked if they ever owned cars with leather interiors the answer always was, "No, but ..."

Jan, a forum is the very place where folk offer opinions as well as fact!
I think my mutterings about leather seats fit in the opinions category!
Very much the same as I feel about automatic gearboxes and diesels...
Anyhow, the Xantia Coupe - as I say, lurking in the background:

Re: White XM from Malaysia
That looks interesting, I 'd like to see more pictures off it before I properly judge it.
Right, the leather seat argument. I like both, leather and velour, I prefer leather. Having grown up and living on a farm, it gives me great pleasure to sit on dead cow skin when I get in my cars! And I enjoy eating them even more. Especially Veal.
Anyway all that asides, what I really hate is the new seating materials used in cars, the stuff that looks very syntheticy. I don't like the seat covering in my fathers C5, same goes for my sisters C4 coupe thing.
This type of stuff, not luxurious at all in my mind.
