The 3mm leak off pipes are just a push fit and if one is giving up it's probably worth replacing the lot.

yes that's exactly it...thanks for the suggestion. I suppose that any standard 3mm diesel pipes will do?

The leak off pipes were replaced earlier this year, the kit is available from eurocarparts for a few pounds.

Cool thanks Ray. It's odd as one cracked and I had to cut a good chunk of it to get rid of the cracked length, perhaps it already had a small cut that expanded.

Just bought a few metres of pipe anyway for whenever I decide to dig in to the engine ;)

And there endeth the lesson. Buy your leak off pipe from a diesel specialist, not ECP.

Citroen/Peugeot sell a 1m (iirc) length of leak-off pipe as a spare/service item. Good quality and cheap.

Thanks both. I've bought a couple of metres of braided pipe that is sold as diesel. If it looks a bit cr#p I will go to the citroen dealer.

Thats the DIN connector for the Steering wheel controls.. there should be a matching light grey circular plug behind the radio, base model or not, the 1992 facelift gave ALL models steering wheel based controls for the radio..

CD Changer DIN connector is Black, and on the Black fronted Clarion radios with RDS radio...

Hi all sorry for not having posted any updates for ages...as a matter of fact that's the car's fault, it's running too well!! Honestly, I am really quite stressed with work and expecting a baby in about a week now, so having such a cool car that I can fully trust is amazing...joining the XM family is the best thing I've ever done!!

In any case, the horn is now sorted. Someone had put an extra cable from one horn to the other (the cable was not citroen, and the oe connections were not there anymore). This cable had cut itself and was shorting to ground. Two second job :)

Rather than that I am under the impression that it's using a bit more fuel and that the idle is about 100rpm higher, any ideas? It seems to have happened since I had the diesel leak. I noticed that the big rubber hoses-rings that connect to the top of the inlet were quite given and tired, so am wondering whether I can have an air leak there (again not sure how turbo diesels react to air leaks).

The one thing I still haven't sorted is the cigarette lighter. Inside it's all fine now so there is no chance it can short a charger when plugged in, however, the lighter works but it keeps blowing any chargers I connect to it...weird!

Regards,

Miq

That is great news Miq and it was also nice to hear the car is running so well! Many congratulations by the way on the baby you are expecting and is that your first? Regards, Matthew T.
