Looking at those photos and the previous ones, I would say it is a tad high at the front. Worth checking the ride height.

Was that anoracky enough?

I hope that Ray will forgive me for this, but I do feel quite strongly about plates and the attached illustration shows the difference between the old and new typeface. Regards, Matthew T.

Oh Matthew I almost feel bad showing you the numberplate font on my Series 1 car:

Sorry for the poor definition, I don't have a better close up pic to hand.... with the stylised grey border surround and 'Citroen' on one side, maybe that's for the best eh?

I found it rather time consuming trying to the 'old font' plates as I also think the new skinny font looks wrong on old cars. Most places don't seem to offer it athe old style as an option. Anyway, eventually, platesforcars.co.uk came up and 'UK old legal' is an option there. £34.46 for two and fixing screws/caps, delivered and they look great.

Hi James,
I am sorry for hijacking Ray's thread but I have a guy in Norwich who will make plates with the correct typeface and also help recreate dealer logos for between £10-15 per plate. As you say the vast majority of places only do the current style.
With regards,
Matthew T.

Thanks for all the comments, they're all greatly appreciated. Matthew, I can't tell the difference between new and old font, which is which?

Thanks Ray and the older font has the squarer letters with the the later being narrow to create space for the eu logo. As you will see the overall length of the reg is much different, which I guess makes the greatest impact. Regards, Matthew T.

Matthew, I need a replacement plate for my front bumper. The rear is the original supplying dealer with all the original details. Can you send me the details of your number plate maker as I would love to get her 'collars' and 'cuffs' matching!

Hi Rob,

If you could send me a close up photo of the original plate I would be pleased to secure a replacement as I am quite often passing the business in Norwich. It is the very least that I can do given your earlier assistance with the laptop etc.!

Please let me know if there are any other orders and hopefully collection at the X rally will be possible.

With regards,

Matthew T.
