You were genuinely robbed mate. I have owned and run some real sheds in my time. The hand painted, yellow and black Dyane with bits of plastic coated ex-school locker pop riveted into cover the missing door bottoms and the other gaps filled with expanding foam was a particular highlight! Mechanically she was a peach with the sort of chassis most modern 2CVs would die for!

I was very impressed with the way the V6 goes but 'sheddy' is definitely the look.

Dean, If you could make Paul's car shine then you would deserve an award!

It was good to meet you again at the X Rob and I am sorry there was not more time to chat and inspect your car, which is certainly an interesting early example. I also appreciated the advice on a possible spare MX3 tyre and I will be at the Northern and National Rallies if that is of some help. With regards, Matthew T.

Following Paul's example ;) I replaced the driver's door mirror this evening with the one I got a couple of months ago from the scrap S1 that also supplied my O/S rear window regulator.

Quick job and works a treat. Not sure now why I was putting off fitting it!

The door speaker is a 70 Watt dual cone Kenwood. Are they standard?

Brought the car back to Calne as I am working from home tomorrow and don't need to schlep 55 miles to Abingdon and back. She is running really well. Seems to be getting better with more use. She didn't use any oil over the weekend and only used the LHM on the way up!!!!!

Wow Rob looks like a great example yours..Looks like you've also done some great work to it so far bringing it back to how you want it to look.....Do you have any recent pics of its journey or are they in the link you posted?

Thanks Vince, she looks better in the photos!

That said she is basically a solid(ish) car with good mechanicals. Most of the stuff I have done is pretty un-exciting and I probably haven't taken enough photos. At the moment most are in the original link and a few scattered through the blog. I have only recently mastered inserting images into the posts (embarrassed look).

That said check out the photos in the link of the C4 plastic treatment that I have been experimenting with. Having spent some time preparing the drivers mirror (and then leaving sat on the bench for months) it now looks really good and has a nice feel to the surface.

Next stop is some mechanical work, new gearbox fluid and a quick chase down of a couple of minor leaks, FDV and steering both need looking at. Over the winter I need to get to grips with the rear sills and cut out the grot and weld in some fresh metal. After that will be the respray. I need to decide if I am going to do it or just do all the prep and contract the actual painting out to a local company. I want her to be a really 'crisp' car withe the white paint contrasting withe the black window belt and the grey trim.

Thanks to juggernaut anf Dave Feaver I now have a good set of steel rims and a set of good/salageable trims. I have the correct steel spare.

I do still need one more steel rim if anyone has one spare.

I do need to source a set of chamfered seat wheel bolts. I assume that these will fit?
