Anyone know how I get hold of the Code for this? No history with the car.

Hi you need to fix the outside temp sensor it's tied into the heating system and it won't work correctly until you do.

Mine has manual heating, and worked fine on the way home last night. Can see it'd be an issue if digital climate control is fitted.

Ian, try:
http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/

I posted on there and got a code suggested to me fairly quickly. Shame that the radio was (unbeknown to me) already broken!

Might be worth extracting the unit to see if someone has kindly written the code on the back.

Well, I'll have to pull the stereo out to get the serial number anyway. How does it come out? Had better check before I start breaking bits of trim...

No way I'm replacing the number plates yet. They're the originals. I may have to treat it to a strut top though - offside is looking distinctly dodgy.

To get the radio out, gently pull away the outside rectangular front trim (fingernails will do it). This reveals four 2.5mm holes, one in each corner of the metal radio frame. Insert four lengths of 2mm steel rod (or small screwdrivers, or drill-bits) or a couple of pieces of bent coat-hanger straight backwards simultaneously into the holes as far as they will go, and lever the hidden spring tabs gently inwards towards the radio body. This releases the radio, which can then be pulled forward and out.

Several separate cable connections to be unplugged at the rear. There's also a fuse in the back, unlikely to have blown.

You can also get access to the rear of the radio (and to help pull it forward and/or nestle the cables when refitting) by removing the rectangular black plastic cubby-hole immediately above the radio. Open the flap, and ease the top and bottom edges of the liner inwards, and pull forward. Liner pulls out to allow access to the back. Useful when re-installing the radio, to check that the central 12mm peg isn't colliding with any of the cables.

Thanks. With the storage tray out, I can just about see the numbers, so I'll see if I can get a code.

As Chris says, if you have nothing but a bent coat hanger, that'll do. But otherwise, it's the standard removal tool available everywhere. For instance, I got a pair with some stereo I bought in the past, long forgotten but I kept the tool.
