Very nice Charles.... 8-)

Ive never seen those type of seats in an sm before?....I always thought they had the narrow tuck and roll style seats in them (you know what I mean) :P

What a beautiful machine though.....ive been out in an sm before but the guy was driving it like he stole it, I think in the vain attempt to prove its performance....that ruined it for me though....for me the sm is very much a gt car...for crossing continents in wafting luxury at high speeds along snow spattered autoroutes 8-) Ahh that's set my imagination off....Better than sex...

I think your doing right though Charles...you really want to be able to use these cars ;)

That is a brilliant example Charles both inside and out. They are gorgeous machines...frighting, but amazing! Gold just suits SM's, very nice indeed.

What are those seats Charles? They're not the usual brown-with-lines ones. Never seen these before.

I am hampered by a lack of fluency in the language, and I am currently 12000 miles away in NZ (for the next 5 months), but other than that, yes.

Ironically, the SM I linked earlier is only 20 minutes from our place in France.

The seats are quite unique, but they are SM seats. I have had two so-called expert opinions that they were originally cloth covered, and have been done in leather, but as has been noted that most SM seats have single centre rolls across the width in both cloth and leather. The centre section is independent of the rest, so it gently caresses you as you drive.

Vince - it really isn't a car that rewards hurling around and in standard form you've got to rev it to at least 4000 rpm to get any serious movement anyway (it's just too heavy a car). It's fun doing that, but as my trip to Holland shows, it's all about comfort on a long haul, with the power to leave slowcoaches standing if needed. I think it happiest at 80 mph - autoroute magnate speed - it is such an imperative car.

I did a quick google search on SM interiors and the first two brought up were these

So I'd say it was an interior option, and the black leather one which looks like a contemporaneous photo is the same as mine. So my source got it wrong (which isn't the first time).

I thought the centre stitched leather was the later style interior to stop the pulling that occurs on the ones without stitching down the centre.

I think you're spot on Will.

I was told mine wasn't original by the leading UK "specialist". There's a hint in that statement.
