Ok start with a standard dimming bmw mirror like on ebay.

these are simple to fit with just three wires, but i want more....

remove pcb

remove pcb carrier, very very carefully, pull / push / peel to hard and bang, 40 quid mirror up the spout.

Then start on the reverse sensor display mirror....

that was the easy bit...

as you can see the silver is not 100% silered so the display can shine through.

this is where it gets tricky... as i have to remove the silver from the back of the bmw mirror, without damaging it, and then re silver it to about 75%....

project on hold awaiting good idea...

well i had one good idea, but i won't be doing it...

Hi Flez1966,

If you wanted just the auto-dimming mirror part, how doyou install that? Is it a case of just sticking the BM mirror onto the screen and running the wires into the power supply for the sunroof or suchlike?

Yes. just take power from the roof light as the whole workings for the mirror are integral within the case.
