Many thanks Neil and it is the end of the restoration project - for now at least! I have owned the car since September 2013, so it has been quite slow progress, mainly due to limited funds and other commitments. All being well we will both be at the X Rally next month! With regards, Matthew T.

Saying that I was finished, there is something else that I would eventually like to do, which is to fit other alloys, which I believe should be painted all over in silver, rather than the natural/grey painted version usually seen. The attached illustration shows a car very slightly older than mine that has these wheels. I have another spare set of Italias, so it is just a matter of getting them painted and fitting tyres, plus one of my spares is also in silver. Regards, Matthew T.

That's the slightly confusing thing about the Italias, when did they paint them completely silver and when did they do the two tone? It seems quite random when you look at the brochure material.

Still can't decide how I want to finish mine. One thing is for sure, it's two tone... But to diamond cut or just paint.....

The silver wheels I have came off a very early UK V6 Russ, so they seem to have been around nearer the launch, although the original brochures showed a mixture of both wheels as you say! I do like the contrast with the brushed metal spokes and grey painted background, but the silver overall just gives a different effect. Regards, Matthew T.
