That's an impressive amount of welding there! Looks like another nice one for the fleet!

It has been some while since I posted on this topic but there is now quite momentus news in that I have managed to arrange insurance on the chassis number at reasonable cost through Footman James and booked an MOT for tomorrow (Tuesday) so wish me luck! Although the car seems hydraulically and mechanically very good including suspension and brakes etc. there are still some rust issues underneath including pipework so I am not necessarily expecting a pass! It will be very helpful to have everything thoroughly checked over and also my first time driving on the road so that shall be exciting!! If all goes to plan I hope to proceed with registration during next month and then to make an appearance at the Chevron Rally in September! With regards, Matthew T.

Many thanks chaps and good luck with yours too Russ that I sure will be almost a formality compared to the Poland car! I shall let you know the outcome anyway. With regards, Matthew T.

Well I did get a failure notice, but amazingly only on one item that was a blown rear number plate light bulb, which is ironic as there is no plate to illuminate at present! I have also been told I need to indicator repeaters that apparently became compulsory from 1986 and there was an advisory from a leak to the exhaust middle silencer I had expected. As it happens the MOT station is quite flexible and agreed temporary repeaters would suffice and luckily there is wiring in place on the car so I will strap something on for the re-test! I know there are other issues requiring attention, including some slightly crusty hydraulic pipes along the underside and two sprung a leak on the weekend and had to be spliced with my last remaining connectors. The pipe problem is corrosion against the plastic clips and in the near future I think I will replace everything underneath with cuprinol. So all being well I should get a certificate later this week allowing submission of registration documents to the DVLA. It was good to drive the car today for the first time as well of course and all felt good with the engine, suspension and brakes etc., although I am not sure the Diravi is functioning quite as it should. With regards, Matthew T.

Always check your light bulbs before any test ;)
