At long last I am having some tidying up work done on the Germany car since my acquisition in November. The main items are removing and repainting the bumpers and rear spoiler and also replacing and painting the nose cone and front offside wing. There are also a number of very small dents in offside front and rear doors to be removed and a couple of other patches of wear from when the car was trailered. Another job I did not envisage was removing the boot glass to allow repainting along the top and bottom edges. My trusted (and very reasonably priced) local specialist reckons the boot was replaced by a new part and the original glass refitted, with neither the painting or sealing up to standard. I hope to refit the parts on Friday and have her ready for Little Horwood! Regards, Matthew T.

I would like to sort mine out slowly. I really need the passenger side doors and rear wing repainted and dents removed for starters. You can tell it used to live in London with the amount of parking dings on all the doors! At least the colour disguises it all pretty well.

Hopefully the work will make a real difference Russ and the idea is to do a thorough 'one-off' job, partly because my local guy charges a very fair price and also allows me to help out and reduce costs. The right-hand wing had almost disappeared at the base whilst there is hardly any rust elsewhere and the nosecose was slightly damaged and anyway a replacement. My car was street parked in Hamburg and the painter suggested that the dents may be due to bikes standing alongside. Interestingly there is only one dent on the (German) offside and about a dozen on the kerbside. With regards, Matthew T.

I might have to take mine over to your chappy then!! Talking to Darren, a good body shop guy is worth travelling for!

I have patched mine up as best as I can. The paint is the tricky bit trying to match it. Halfords did there best, but it turned out too grey. Needs more blue green in there.

Okay Russ and if it is any help I had a replacement door painted and fitted with a second door and sill repaired and repainted on another car for £276. I am hoping the current work on the Germany car will not exceed £500! Obviously you can assess the standard of the workmanship at CXM. With regards, Matthew T.

I didn't realise you had got the bodywork done Matthew. I have to say, the little horwood meeting by went very quickly, I think I only got to speak with you very briefly.
