It is curious how some get it really bad and others not so much. Maybe it is down to how the car is looked after...garaged or not.
I'd be so much happier if I could garage mine!

If I can get the glass out without breaking them then anything else should not be a problem!!

Keep a watch to see progress. The other reason for dismantle I decided that the Old SED needs the rear subframe mounts welding, like the 24v, but they are quite good on this J reg, so, remove the subframe and cut the Box Sections out completely and treat them inside, and stick them on the SED! Better JOB done.

I also needs the near side leading edge of the wheel arch for another Project Car I have... so that will come in usefull too..
You make me smile Paul, I've just noticed my scuttle panel has completely come unstuck and needs re sealing and am now stressing about how to remove it without breaking it, and you are tearing through major jobs like it's nothing. Wish I had your skills. ..and spares stash; )

Vince, theres NO NEED to stick the scuttle down on an XM, it does not account for stopping water from getting in the car like the Xantia.. Theres a nice little tray under the scuttle that catch's any water and directs it into the proper areas.. DONT stick it down. theres no need!!

I'm interested to see the heater box come out. Can't the dashboard and heater be removed as one?

No.. whats even more stupid is the heaters control panel is BEHIND the dash, and theres no way of getting it out with the dash in place. I forgot to picture that.. BUT the dash in a simple thing to remove!

Glove box out, speedo clocks out, lower steering colum.. remove the lower panels. Remove heater front panel... then about 6 10mm bolts, and three torx screws in the window demist vent, unplug tweeters and out it should come! No need to even touch any scuttle trim like the xantias!

I deafenatly want the heater box as its a duel heating box because its a base car!

I thought the whole assembly could come out if the supporting bracket is unbolted from the firewall.

The control panel issue is a real pain.

Im hoping so Will, the supporting bracket is bolted through in either the scuttle or the engine bay.

As for heater panel DITTO...
