Here is a somewhat delayed concluding update on my project to report that the work is now completed, with the engine and box back in the car and running, albeit not actually on the road! There were one or two minor issues to resolve that included a defective gearbox starter inhibitor switch, which I eventually pinpointed as the dashboard display permanently registered first gear - very luckily I had a spare and changing the part was not too involved!! I have a slight drip on the water pump shaft annoyingly, hence the need to refurbish my spare, but apart for that thankfully all seems fine. Although the car has only been driven along a track at slow speed the manual changes on the gearbox feel super smooth! I attach some photos of the final stages for your interest. With regards, Matthew T.

It's been a longer running saga than Russ's blog.

It was mainly down to the cost of the gearbox overall Neil that almost required a second mortgage!! The pictures are a bit out of date now Jim but you can imagine what the finished job looks like! With regards, Matthew T.
