Blue Mauritius is the name of the colour. I thought I brighten the forum page up with a very mundane problem
Today I swapped all the 4 wheels for another set with still decent michelins. It was also time to change the LHM (yep....again...) so I bled and checked all 4 brakes.
And the warning loom for worn brake pads, they all still work:) That is a miracle since they are home made Front pads are becoming dubious now but that's normal since they were done last at 127K and she's now at 168. I'll get a new set soon. The LHM was grey, didn't like that really. Something is wearing, I bet it is the pump. The magnet was full of metal debris as well. Anyway, all fresh LHM for now and she's good to go again for another 1.5 year or so...

I am stumped: the car sinks a lot less fast with the new LHM. It's good but I really don't get it..

Maybe a bit of dirt in the system has been shifted; or the viscosity of the old fluid was a tad different from the new; or a bit of air got displaced. Whichever way, good news. Have noticed the same thing a good while ago after fluid renewal, even without flushing.

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
I know I've been driving along some strange passengers over the years...
And I hardly ever realize but I seem to be always driving with a turtle in my neck.
Meet my wife's old bear Bob, who was transported recently all the way in the trailer, back from Holland to Ireland, to be donated to a very sick child that needs a kidney transplant.
So this, is how he looked being transported, no idea what people were thinking..

If you ever get the chance on a nice day when you are in Ireland, spend some time doing the Slea Head drive on the Dingle peninsular.
Drove it again today, first time in the XM.

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
Crazy mileage this week, 1058 and that's since Sunday..so according to other xm guru's I should have all sorts of issues, this week alone. Well there are 2.
I will start with the easier one: the temperature gauge is failing intermittently.
So this morning before leaving home I swapped the sender unit in the coolant header tank.
That didn't make any difference.
So now I am thinking about the actual meter failing on me, bad solder joints of sorts.
Anyone ever had this as well? I'm looking here at an old dashboard and it's got many tiny screws I'll have to get to in order to see but I doubt I could swap the whole right clock of this petrol model dash..
