Eddie, its NOT a pressure dial, its simply an Oil Level Guage, to show the oil level in the engine..

When you switch on the ignition, before you start, the needle should move up to the level corresponding in the engine, after starting it should then go out, and do NOTHING again.

Its NOT a pressure guage...

Exactly...and mine just kicks. Sometimes it does the full show, but as most of use have come to the conclusion...just use the dipstick!

Need to clarify which dial/gauge we're talking about. AIUI the curved dial on the extreme right is the oil level for the sump, that works fine. The dial I am talking about is the one on the right hand side in the dial with 3 gauges in - fuel, temp and oil pressure. It's this gauge which doesn't work.

There is no oil pressure gauge. But a coolant level checker. Its on a needle, and the oil level is a back lit visual level type marker.

Coolant level checker?? that sounds fun! never seen one of those Robert.. the only coolant level checker i know of is the sensor and message on the left hand screen where fitted with dot matrix read out..

the dials on the right are temp sensor, fuel level and oil level.

Here is a photo of the instruments for clarity and the right hand dial has coolant temp, fuel level and engine oil pressure (l to r),as stated by Paul. The only additional gauges to my knowledge are turbo pressure (2.1 turbo diesel) and engine oil temp (PRV V624v), in both cases fitted into the left hand dial. Regards, Matthew T.

The ES9 V6 also has the oil temperature gauge in the tacho Matthew...

I still think the S1 dash is cooler than a cool thing...

Cooler than an S2 one that's for sure...
