Not the first V5 error I have come across.
Citroen made a number of mistakes in their block registrations.
Actually an important issue on selling a car so the error needs to be spelt out as Rob has done.

Not the first V5 error I have come across.
On the two lhd cars I have re-registered the new V5s do not even state 'XM' never mind the trim level, despite my providing full details to the DVLA! It seems a bit ironic when the registering body is so picky about all the necessary paperwork being supplied! Regards, Matthew T.

Large sections of How Many Left? need taking with a pinch of salt, especially when numbers are tiny.
Widespread model confusion, and not just Citroen.

The kind of car that's not worth bothering with because it's base spec, but those that survive always look special because of their lack of bells and whistles.

This car is TG spec, not base. Electric front windows, central locking, tinted glass, nicer seat material.

The engine is the later 1.4 TU unit which is pretty lively and easy to work on. The E denotes the 1.4 litre engine.

Another return trip to Gloucestershire completed with no dramas. Just love this old car!

Nearly 600 miles and no XMs or Xantias spotted never mind anything rarer/older. Did see a couple of Aston Martins on the M42 today though.

No takers as yet on the BX. Looks like evil bay will be the way forward.

Hadn't realised it was so long since I had posted anything here!

The BX was sold to a very keen chap from Glasgow who seems keen to coddle it. It eventually found its buyer through a classified ad on ebay.

In the last week or two I have found a car that I am seriously considering buying, and should I do so it would mean selling the XM. I am very torn about whether I can a) afford to do so, or B) really want to do so. It is a quandry. My XM is the perfect spec for me, I love the V6 and the auto box, the only electricals that don't work are the heated seats (and since I have never had them I don't miss them) there is no display on the radio and there are some lines out on the left hand matrix. The biggest plus for me though is the lack of sunroof which gives me the head room I need at 6ft 2. I am unlikely ever to find another one, so if I do sell, it could be my last XM...

What I have decided to do, is MOT the XM 3 months early and it is going in for some remedial work tomorrow to bring about a pass - basically a front to rear pipe and a seepage around the regulator. If it doesn't end up costing too much than it will be offered for sale, or I shall keep it and continue to love it. I suspect the latter is more likely, but if anyone thinks they might be interested in a V6, message me privately. I would prefer to avoid a public examination of my sanity and/or the relative merits/weaknesses of my car.

Glad you got the BX sold, may I be nosey though and ask what new toy your being tempted by? Sounds very interesting.
