I liked them so much my S2 hatch sports them too.

Need to get a couple for the S2 estate as I already have two.
I have about four in the shed!! I HATE them! :D Really I do, Ive four in the shed, but they arent perfect. Ill take some pics if your interested. A possible bit of resto might see them fitable onto a car..

I'm not a fan of the swirly trims as sported by Messerschmitt owners Xm pics. Sorry! I much prefer the MK1 disc style trims. In fact I have four hanging up as wall features. Sorry not for sale!
Mk2 trims just don't seem to fit in with the XM's angular styling, me thinks.

Well quite a bit more has been done on the xm since my last update.....the brake lights and tail lights failed and were reborn with my own hands :) and the knock on the front end resolved ;) Its moving along nicely......

The whol ecar still needs machining before the cxm, but i gave the bonnet a brief session to start it off a few days ago and to get a feel for the paint on this car...its tough

Before it was quite a mess in the sunlight as you can see in these before and after shots:

Headlamps were sanded and polished

The whole car is looking alot better now...

Its going to have just short of a thousand miles put on it when we go on holiday next week....wish me luck :P Not that it needs it, its in fine fettle now :)

That's a great transformation Vince, it looks like an executive car now. I need to find time/energy/enthusiasm and fitness to do both of mine.

Looking good Vince.

You said you sanded and polished the headlamps.

Tell me more? What grade of paper did you use, and what kind of compound did you polish it with?

I'm assuming you didn't use G3 or G10 on the glass?

What about polishing light wiper marks from the windscreen?

The windscreen repiar kits you get on ebay seem to work well but it does require a lot of elbow grease!!!

Looks stunning now Vince, really is a nice looking car, you do realise you will have a lot of people bending your ear about your refinishing techniques at CXM dont you, which may well include me ;)

Elbow grease, I have a machine polisher; will that do, or is that too severe for a screen?

you wont do big areas, the glass is too hard, the pad you get in the kit is about 3/4" diameter.

I done some bad scratches in a saxo a month back (you could feel dipps in the glass they were that deep and probably 2mm wide at their worst) and they took some getting out, the dipps are still there its just it polishes the surface to make the glass transparent again.

Wow! that looks great, I've always loved that grey colour. Need to do mine this week... won't get it looking as good as your efforts though.
