That looks great Russ but there seems to be a very serious problem with the number plate. Have you been polishing it too hard and rubbed off all the letters and numbers?

Yeah, too yellow!. Good improvement there. Didn't know Dieselman about the running of the engine after LHM change, never did it before.

I know, I just kept polishing and it got worse...so I just carried on till they were all gone. Looks neater don't you think!
You pay a lot for a number plate like that.

Your SED is very nice Russ, I was having a look around it at the ICCCR 8-)

I can see that number plate having many advantages!

Thanks Chris. I'm dying to do some body work on it. But the weather is now changing, so it'll have to wait.

I think I was parked next to your XM estate at the ICCCR on the Saturday... maybe..I think.

When I had the black XM Prestige I took our Tractions wheels into a tyre place to have new tyres fitted. One of the tyre fitters commented about the XM "you don't see these now!" So I gave him a quick tour around it 8-)

It is funny how people do comment on them.
It was quite funny at the tyre fitters, I asked them to jack it up on the rear crosstube rather than the sill, so when he finished putting the wheel on he lowered the car, only to trap the jack. So I said don't worry I'll raise her up. They all stood around watching with fascination as the car rose to release it!

I'm sure I did park next to your estate cos I think I remember you having lunch out the back of it, ...I did the same at the same time! But It was a frantic pit stop. had to get back to the stand!
Pity we didn't know each other..could have had a good chat and shown you round. :D

Next rally. :)

Re tyre fitters I can recommend ATS Euromaster. They were enthusiastic about the thought of balancing the centre less alloys and treated the car as if was brand new ie very carefully. I asked them to jack it using the subframe mounts instead of the sills and they were very compliant. I'd avoid National Tyres at all costs, as their grease monkey embryonic employee put a trolley jack sized hole into the side of the sill bodykit on the valver!! Grrr.

Actually, it's funny you mention ATS. We have one round the corner, and they are excellent. They are the only guys that can balance the C5 alloys properly. But I thought I would try Malvern. And just as good.

We had a similar sort of experience at Quick fit a while ago. As a rule they do not get my business... It was a sort of emergency tyre replacement on the C5, and they were the only outlet who had the correct tyres. Anyway they gouged both front alloys quite badly removing the old tyres on the machine. Couldn't believe what I saw when it was done. Their response was..." it does it to everyone's alloys!!!???" The head office got a miffed off e-mail, for all that was worth!
