rescuing an XM - now with pics

Post by messerschmitt owner » Tue May 29, 2012 9:54 pm

Will be pulling a 2.1td exclusive estate out of a local garage when I return from my holiday next week.
No, it's an auto, low miles (less than 100k IIRC), just been started after a two year slumber in the garage it has lived all its life in. More details to follow when I go see it.

Sounds like another result, you seem to have a knack of rescuing dormant cars.

it's been locked away since its owner died and the house has sold so it's time for it to go. I think it has been garaged all its life, so am looking forward to seeing it when I get back from holiday.

The deal is I am allowed to keep it but the BX has to go, so I think I can cope with that.

The nice thing about XMs is that the engender a love in them from their owners, who, as a result, take care of them and pamper them. As I said, I think it's an Exclusive, if not a VSX.

There were no Exclusive Estates, but VSX Estates could have been specified with alloys and leather.

it's top of the range, so must be a VSX then. It is an S2. P or R Reg I think.

More information and photos at the end of next week. ;-)

Not going to be spotting any XMs on my holidays - unless they're dumped in the canal.

TD Auto, you should get on well enough with that Campbell. No clutch cables to mess you about.

I kinda need an estate too - and I have a new towbar for it. ;-)

not a huge fan of autos but needs must in XM diesel estates. I'm not as fussy as some lol *

*only kidding Peter N!

Mind you, it may be a rustbucket! I have yet to see it, but I have a feeling it'll come with a history pack like the last one.

You could always step up into the dizzy heights of the 2.5 TD, and have a fast diesel estate!

Aye watch out for rot! Everywhere!

it'll be not much above scrap price so I doubt I'll lose out even if it is rotten.
