Ah thats a shame, due to personal circumstances I WILL NOT be at CXM - Unfortunally the XM - or any of the XMs wont be making outings this year :(

Ill have to leave it to Mathew Thomas to show you, IF he takes his 24v to CXM.. Ill have a word with him.. ;)

Paul is correct that the 24v has had all three cats removed and there certainly seems to be no shortage of power!! Originally there was a so-called pre-catalyster on the front manifold and then two actual cats in line beyond, one from each side. I did look into reinstating the cats for the sake of the environment and authenticity, but the pre-cat is no longer available and the cats are around £230 each!! I understood that without the cats there was slightly more bhp and also better economy. I shall be taking the car to Wetherby (and hopefully the CXM), so look forward to seeing you all at on or the other. Regards, Matthew T.

Mathew

Dont be so boring.. leave her un catted.. Thats what I WILL do with mine when the cats finally fall apart.. you see, as we have Pre 1993 cat essential cars, we ARE allowed to have them removed without much effect on MOT.

Let you into a secret, I HAVE got a Pre Cat in the shed from a spare buggered engine... I may be presuaded to sell it for 150 quid...

Hi Paul,

Don't worry, I have now accepted that the cats are probably gone for good! As you say, there are some advantages in having an earlier model. If you needed a home for your pre-cat I might still be interested and I shall start saving up!!

Regards,

Matthew T.
