Robert's Activa

Afternoon Folks,

I've just picked up an Activa this morning.

Its a 1997 Model with 108K on the clock. First impressions are good, the Anti-Roll system works and is very impressive to drive, and its a nice change to be driving a Turbo Petrol Xantia rather than a Turbo Diesel.

It has the usual Activa faults, leaking ram return pipes, clonking from the rear anit-roll bar, and a nice little slow shuffle dance from side to side at idle as well.

I'll take my time at working through these problems, and get it MOTd again sometime soon.

Its not a bad car on the surface, some marks and dings to be expected with the age, but it will clean up well. The interior is nice, no wear to the seats or fag burns, again a deep clean will do it no harm either.

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Edit: I've just noticed that photobucket is being an arse, and not re-sizing the pictures properly.

I didn't realise it was a Pb issue, I notice it all the time on this forum only, I thought it was a forum thing.

Back to the car. Those seats look a lot more supportive and comfortable than regular Xantia ones. Are they?

The seats are a million times better than standard Xantia seats, I haven't driven it enough to say if its on a Par with the XM seats.

But you need the bucket style seats in this thing  :D

It will never be as good as your Xantia Vince, but I will give it a good polish and hire an upholstery cleaner once I get it MOTd.

Very nice seats indeed, have never seen those in a Xantia -not even a V6, unless I'm terribly wrong-.

btw, irrelevant, but I read somewhere today that the Xantia has a Cx of 0.33, when the XM is 0.28 to 0.30. Seems they didn't spend that much time in the tunnel on the Xantia. Anybody can confirm that info?

cheers
G

I only noticed the other day that you had an activa, when you were askingquestions on the FCF.

Looks very tidy. Look at those seats! Very nice 8-)

Its a Leaking Bandit at the minute. It has been put on hold for a short time whilst I shuffle XMs round, and do things to them.

Is that a euphemism for money pit Robert!?

Activa seats are bloody brilliant - best of any recent history Citroen!!

It hasn't been tooo bad yet. But it will be a money pit when I start using it, with its appetite for petrol and tyres!
