Well, spent last week off work, during that time went on my half way meet to Carlisle to collect my latest addtion..Saturday..

1990 H reg 2.1 SED Manual, with dreadded Lucas Mechanical.

Anyway, on my way home, I then suddenly lost rear suspension, then the rear sinking to the floor, this then allowed the exhaust to drag.. however, me being me, was not going to stop on the motorway so drove to the next services... Lancaster Services..

I couldn't see much, but finially found my problem.. The anti roll bar on the nearside, had been catching on the main feed pipe to the rear suspension unit.. this eventually cutting a hole in the feed pipe..

Anyway, a call to the RAC, who them selfs couldn't come out, instead sending out a contracted recover lorry.. flat bed, back to their base in Carlisle.. They couldn't get me home that night, and so lent me a car to get home.. Current status.. Im at home, my car is still waiting relay recover home..

Was looking forward to useing her this week, hopefully they shall get her back to me tomorrow, they said up to 48 hours before delivery..

Ive got the pipe ready to fit, just need a car to fit it to!!

So, not had a good start! Ill be making damm sure the pipe is well out the way this time. It looked to me as though it had been bent out slightly..

I am eagerly awaiting seeing this car, even in pictures. Your post has shades of my beginnings with my H plater... I'm hoping to get it into some semblence of order this week.

What colour is your SED.?

Don't be too bothered about the Lucas pump, they aren't ultimately as strong as a Bosch unit so can't be run on veg oil, but for diesel they are fine.
I was thinking about converting mine but now it's running properly and leak free I'm not going to.

One good thing about it being a lucas pump, it means the engine has no EGR so runs better and is more economical.

Surely it cant be hard to guess the colour!

So far EVERY 1990 and 1991 Diesels have all been one colour!!

Free abuse if you can guess the colour!

Wehey....Mandarin red pearlescent....The best colour.....

The reason why everyone bought Mandarin was because most dealers had that as their demo colour because it looks so good in bright sunshine...
Maybe the dealers had pre filled in order pads...2.1TD...manual...Mandarin Red...

Of course my first one was white...then next one green...

An RP number 49** probably puts it at May/June production and August 1st registration.

Will,

shes a December 1990 reg date.. Older then yours from your RP number, but not sure about the manderin?? Thats........ um, ... orange isn't it?

Shes a more Maroone colour then red "Red".. but this is a metallic I think, as theres lacquer peeling ever so slightly on the nose cone...
