We just need to persuade Vince to get an Xm and give it the same treatment!

Very, Very nice.
I'm envious. I have seen pictures of it in the Citroenian. The engine bay being so clean made it hard for me to figure out what engine you had!
How do you get the engine bay so clean! Keeping it clean I suppose is the other challenge, limiting the use of the car.
Congratulations, nice to see a Xantia being looked after so well. I'd like a base model sinker some time to add to the fleet, as a kind of future classic.

Re: Something else......a Xantia !
Thanks for the comments guys and no not everyone is a fan of the shiny plastics which i can understand but i like keeping everything clean and shiny and also it helps plastics and rubbers from not drying up.
Robert its the 1.9 TD engine and as far as the useability of the car goes, this car gets used alot....Ive got 2 kids and a wife that doesnt drive so this car is the family hack....The way i see it is the more i use it the more i get the enjoyment of cleaning it back up again afterwards ...thats the bit i like really like As far as looking at Xantias goes......you have CX's and XM's.....youve got a great spread of cars
TBH the engine metalwork has pretty much all been painted so it just wipes clean again and the hoses are coated about once a month or so with tyre shine spray so again they come back up with just a wipe. The hardest thing was doing the engine bay painting as it was all done by hand with everything in situ so took a couple of weeks each night with an aritsts brush but i got me out in the fresh air as im stuck in the shop all day
Id love to do an XM......I really like early series 1 cars, the one with the grill badge off to one side, but i doubt ill ever own one as my wife will soon be driving the car and there is no way she would drive an XM as she thinks the Xantia is big I do love their rarity though.
If anyone wants to drop their car off at my house for a few days then i'd happily do someones engine bay for them....for nowt too...I mean it

Your Xantia looks great, but as Robert said, a little overdressed for me.
Get an XM, the Wife will soon get used to the size.

Re: Something else......a Xantia !
Even more credit to you using that as your family car. If that was mine, no-one else would be allowed into it!
My First Car was a '97 TD Xantia, I really liked it, but I prefer the XM more, its just that bit bigger and I prefer the XM seats.
You should get a series 1 XM, and keep it as a weekend car, or something, Let your wife drive it once, and she'll stop complaining about the Xantia being big!
