In your last picture you can see the small hole that causes the rust. On my car the bung had dropped out, unfortunately I left it out, so need to apply some cavity wax, which I'm not sure of the best way to do that as there is no entrance hole.

Ah no, the cause is not the breather from the cill, i wil get a photo of the cause tomorrow, its the fuel tank vent that causes it.

I notice the rear sub-frame photo. I can report I have a perforation on the right side. Has anyone any experience with treating this? And additionally, the place where the front wing is joined to the sill flange is rusting through. My mechanic is of the opinion that a weld to the rear-subframe involves the removal of the rear suspension (wheels inwards) and a monster bill. I have two years to worry about this is as MOT people missed this fault.

You can drop the rear subframe off the car without removing any suspension components from it at all, just undo the four bolts and lower it down.
If you need to lower it far either unclip the hydraulic pipes from the body or disconnect them from the subframe components.

If i get a chance this week i will do a full update of whats been going on car wise, i have a new arrival to the fleet, one leaving and after a panic drive out the other night ive fried the clutch in the activa to a point where it will slip unless driven very very slowly indeed so work will start next weekend on that.

One arrival i have not mentioned here yet Was My little baby girl, Ellie, born on the 6th February weighing in at an impressive 9lb. Over christmas i bought a couple of mini moto's to try and build a good one out of for my best mates little boy for when he comes to stay with us, since it was a barmy 15C here today we got out into the garden to size Ellie up for a ride.
