Ok, just drove it to my nan's, turned engine off and got out, car was deathly silent. No buzzing noise.

What's this I hear about a LW radio test?

Best to sit in the car then switch off and listen.

Another test is to start the engine and bounce the ends of the car, switch off, close all doors, wait 30+ seconds and you should hear clunk. Then try the bounce test and it should feel firm.

I read from Russ's blog that KP has reneged on his offer:-

The guy [KP] backed out of returning my money within hours of offering it.

Does this mean you're keeping the car and sorting it?

Wouldn't it be a pitty to crush the car? It looks very nice and there are people that can do a proper welding job.

It's a push button starter, the key still works fine, apparently it was put in as a fail safe as the ignition fails? I don't know, I don't use it, I forgot it was there!
