Took the battery off the Activa this afternoon in preparation for her winter lay-up. battery will be trickled at regular intervals during the winter..

It was such a lovely afternoon I got a bit of tidying up done in the garden...

And gave the other two cars a quick check-over as this weekend is going to be busy. Down to see Dad on Saturday and then on Sunday off to the Classic car Show at the NEC...

The XM is going to be busy too...

Cor Jim, you're busy. How's your fitness now? Looks like it has really improved. :)

It has Russ. The swimming, the cross trainer and a set of special physio routines have really started to bear fruit :D

My stamina has improved remarkably and I can feel muscles growing!!! I don't reckon I'll ever run a marathon but I feel I could ride a bike a good few miles now..

30 minutes on the trainer with the tension up full is now easily possible as well as 45 minutes of good swimming. Some real difference from when I started. I have to remain vigilant and be careful not to over-do it and land back in a bad place though. Te temptation to swim for an hour or cross train for 45 minutes has to be resisted even though I feel I could..

I feel a different person now. More alive and younger...

My new goal, issued to me today, is to try and adjust my sleep. I have to start trying to stay up 15 minutes later each night for the next week and then report on progress. The sleep specialist is keen to see me stay up longer and get up at more humane times

That's great news Jim. It also makes perfect sense to me to get a more conventional sleep pattern. Must try it myself, :D
15 minute increases seems okay. Very achievable surely. You need a laptop or tablet and watch youtube videos! Mind you might stay up all night! That's not going to help at all.

Shame you’re not going to the NEC this year Vince. I'll certainly try to get some good picture of the stand although I'll be spending a lot of my time amongst the tools...

I just managed to stay up an additional 15 minutes last evening. Woke up at the same time this morning though. That was expected.. It's was hard to stay awake past 9 PM...

I'll be walking up to the pool for my morning swim shortly. Walking as we've had a hard frost here and no way am I de-icing a car for that as I'll not need a car for the rest of the day.

It takes time jim :)

For years i got up early with the nippers and then over the last 18months after leaving it took me about 9 months of staying in bed to get past 0630hr wake ups 7 days a week.
I'd just wake up and then close my eyes again and leave my brain empty :) (not too hard obviously!)

Bedtime was much later last night Will

Had a different car in last evening - a Honda S2000. Very desirable and a car I could love a lot..

It belongs to a work colleague who camps down here during the week and returns home a long way away at weekends. It had a graunching a the back due to worn disc pads and there was no way it was going home without being done.

Owner procured a set of cheap pads for a tenner and we set to work. The caliper and piston were well seized on the bad side and getting the piston to retract was a real struggle. Much WFA profanity eventually got it moving but we'd have never done it without the use of a pukka caliper wind-back tool and a beaker bar on the end of it! I thank my lucky starts that a visitor a few weeks ago left a wind-back tool here - it truly saved the day :-D

The other side was a doodle in comparison and we could almost have wound the piston back by hand!

We went for a spin in it afterwards. It's one cool car with a 9,000 rpm redline   :P 8-)

A good test for me. I was up late and working. Ended up going top bed at 10:30 but was still up at 04:00 this morning and quite perky :-D

Great day with Team WFA at the NEC today... We travelled up in my XM.. The show was brilliant although the CCC stand was a terrible disappointment. No XM and no Xantia

The BX Club stand was lovely and that's given me an idea. How about an FCF/Club-XM stand next year?

Bought an H Van :-D Only a Norev model though. Picked up a few tools and got very interested in high-end welders...

An excellent outing... :-D
