You can't leave a series 1 high anyway, it will just sink, but will stress the selector rod. Best to select low to stop the rod getting deformed.

No it wont Will, the rod to the height corrector is designed to Flex!

So it wont actually hurt the rods to the height selector...

No problem boys.....its parked on low....Will ill skip the bricks also if that's ok. Coming home and seeing it parked on the drive without the car cover makes it more accessible for starting and citearobics.....I don't want the spheres to go flat either.

Hello all.....

Well all attempts to keep the damp off and out of the xm are failing dismally so after it laying up untouched for 2 weeks, today it has almost as much moisture inside the interior as on the exterior....its not raining in, but the inside of the windscreen and rear window get sodden. (sunroof I suspect)

The only viable solution I can see being garage less as I am is for it to be regularly driven and generally used :P

I decided today was the day to broach the subject with Linda,,,it didn't go down too well as she is out of work and the xm needs around £300 I reckon to return it to the road...tax/mot/insurance etc....but my plan is to get it back on the road early next year and use it for the anniversary year 8-)

Im going to source a back box for it through work somehow and price up getting it to my local (ex citroen) mechanic for him to get it MOT ready....then its just tax and insurance and the MOT certificate to tackle.....Ive got no disposable income to get things done but that's a trifling matter....if man can go to the moon, I can get the xm back on the road ;)

I did think of asking to keep it at work....not sure how they would react though.....it would be parked inside then at night and I can go in and do little bits on it before and after work....Not sure how the building insurance tackles things like that.

Its mission #1 for the new year...it has to be. We have shows to go to :D

Nice one..We ALL need our XM on the roads next year, so I shall also have one, possibly Two on the road next year!

The two I mean, I shall tackle the Diesel Project in earnest next year after christmas, then I also get the 24v leagal..

This is of course as long as I get a job!!

Hi Vince

I use one of those portable car heaters and a spare battery when I need to keep or get stored cars dry.
Drop the back seats, put the heater and battery on a board in the centre of the boot.
12 Volt Heater with cigar plug lead are lees than £10 on ebay.
Lead with battery clips and cigar socket £2.
Battery is from keeping a couple that will still charge but not well enough to use on a car.

John
