Rubber button on the end of the brake valve is another LHM leak source in the front scuttle.
I agree with John that the leak is most likely to be from the brake doseur valve rubber button. The problem has recently arisen on my gold 12v although luckily the car is off the road at present! Regards, Matthew T.

Not on an xm .. they are NOT glued down like the xantia ones.. popping the end trims off can be tricky to get at the securing screws that hold it on..

Another for the doseur valve rubber button...about £12 and half an hour.

Remove scuttle plastic trim, remove brake pedal quadrant unit, lift and support valve, prise out hog ring, pull off button, replace and rebuild.

Aha!....you need to pull the bottom of the caps and they will pop off. Be careful...snappage can occur. I tend to find if you push down then pull the bottom out it comes off. Others might have other techniques!

Then you will find two screws either side. And then it is a case of lifting up the scuttle panel. There are four or five large lugs which are held in with rubber grommets on the scuttle wall. Be careful as these can snap off too. I tend to find having the bonnet half open helps. Again you might find your own way.

Hope that helps!
