Thanks everyone for your tips and advice. Jaap if you can find a filter head, then yes i would be very interested. Many thanks for your help. The diaphragm must be rubber. But must admit, if it means bypassing with a better filter and Granade primer then I'll do that.
Would any fuel filter and granade primer do?
I have never seen any sooty smoke from my exhaust. Quite surprising, as I have seen black smoke from the C5, which is clearly a newer car.
Right I'm off filter shopping. Annoying as I have just ordered a new canister filter for the service.
