You smile because your thinking you idiot.. Do you know how stupid and ugly those are and what you look like driving a puke... It is though jim, a micra on steroids.. It uses the micra chassis with a 4x4 system or just a higher set running gear..

Quite. I grimace when I see one. Hateful things. Much rather have a Kumquat. Especially now after Vinces glowing reports! Would like to try one and see what they are like.citroenxm wrote:You smile because your thinking you idiot.. Do you know how stupid and ugly those are and what you look like driving a puke... If I were to have something different, and that is 4X4 like and utterly useless off road, but can mount a kerb with aplomb...it would have to be a DS4.

I'm really keen to try a Kumquat now too...
Truth is I could drive around in a Puke for a while just for giggles but I could never live with one on a long-term basis...

Nissan salesman
The only Nissan i ever entertained buying was the old Nissan Patrol....but only because it looks like you could drive it through a planet and come out the other side...huge tank like things with whopping engines in them
I just couldnt fuel one so bowed out.
Where am i going?....I dont know fully yet Jim....all ive had sent through at the moment is "We are on the south side of Northampton itself. If travelling south on the M1 exit Jun 15 onto A45, we are by the junction of the A45/A43 (Lumbertubs way)"
Does that sound anywhere near by?

We had a Nissan in Australia in the early 90s... A Nissan Pintara, a model unique to the place and locally made. It was good too.. It had a twin-spark engine...
We had a Nissan Serena for a while when we returned to the UK but not for long. It drank fuel...

Yes, I know it well Vince. I guess it's about 12 miles away from me.Vince wrote: Does that sound anywhere near by?

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm
Ill be in the nissan i reckon...less mileage on the xm, plus if the tensioner hasnt been done by then id rather avoid any long trips which could leave me stranded...who knows though...might change my mind and use the xm if its done

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm
Well whats been going on in the world of my xm?.......not too much compared to some of the projects on here
This week alongside getting the bathroom work done, ive been restoring all the plastics again...around the windows. I use meguiars trim and vinyl restorer...its a cream based substance and a little goes a long way. You just massage it in and leave it.....an hour or so later your trims are black and re-moisturised
I find it especially good on the top end of the rear window seal...it gets very dry and looks brittle....
On the interior, ive managed to get all the bulb working again on all the switches where bulbs were historically missing, and i keep threatening to get a book of lies for the xm to allow me to venture further on it......
I gave the engine bay a spruce up today and took the car out for a nice spin to get it all warmed up....the damn tensioner seems noisier again today when the last time i drove it, it was quiet
im putting it down to lack of use at the moment, but i know i need to get it changed soon anyway.
The wheel alignment still hasnt been done, as all our money has been diverted to the damn bathroom job
I hate spending money on houses....if it was cars then thats a different story
So the xm looks nice and clean and ready ish for the weekend
Im still loving the fact that its paintwork is just that right level of ropey that it doesnt warrant me chasing a flawless competition worthy finish..."its original" i tell myself....saves me a few hours of polishing i guess

Re: Vince's 2.1td xm
Well, following the x rally the xm hasnt moved off the drive due to the semi repaired gear linkage...last night though i had some car work to do which netted me some money to get it fixed (im paying for everything on the xm myself, not out of the family money pot) so a quick pre-call to Paul at Paris Autos yesterday, and the xm is going in next week to get a good going over.
Ill get the gear linkage welded up to give a permanent repair, and also ive asked Paul to check everything over to make sure its tip top. Im sure there is a slight weep from one of the unions on the new FDV i had fitted so that can be nipped back up whilst its up on a ramp.
Yesterday i received a pack of old magazines that i won off ebay. they are all 80's autocar magazines each containing a write up of the "new" citroen xm in various forms. Some great pictures and articles in them, but ill only keep a couple and probably bring the rest to the next rally and give them away free to anyone who wants them (didnt cost me much).
One thing is for sure....from reading the articles ive read, it really makes me want to drive the xm again
For now though ill have to just look at it, until its repaired
