 Sorry Vince. We know. But what surprises me is a "Japanese" car is not as a Japanese car should be.....

I'm sure yours will be trouble free and reliable. :D

Umm, a fully floating steering wheel. That's rather an interesting concept...

Someone I know has recently bought a Q. Traded in a nice Mazda 6 for it...

Mindful of the reputation of the Renault DCi he boasted he was careful to make sure he got a Q that didn't have a Renault engine.

Walking past the car later in the day I noted it had DCi badges on the back of it...

I think he may have failed a bit there...

Not sure if a mazda 6 to a squash sky is a step up or down.. The mazda six is all fraud based too which a shame.. I liked mazda of the 90s when they used their own chassis and technology though the six is well rated too...

My Uncle bought a Mazda 6 estate after years and years of company cars, including many Renaults.
It is a good car, but it is souless and bland. It's of a good quality, but not for me.
A rotary engine would probably improve things, but we all now know what they really are like!!

That is funny Jim. All that effort to get a kumquat and still ended up with a DCi. Was he blind?!

Well im sorry guys but.....the Qashai is awesome 8-) for a new, non citroen car :P

It drives smooth., sits high ish like a 4x4, this version is only 2 wheel drive, but its a very high spec bring an ex regional managers car.....so full black heated leather interior, full length electronic sunshine roof, screen in the dash with sat nav, bluetooth, reversing tv camera, maps, etc etc.....cruise control, HID auto headlights and probably a bunch of other stuff i havent come across yet. It is very nice to drive ill give it that.

The renault DCI engine pulls well enough and is quite refined and quiet as the soundproofing is very good too.....what can i say.....i like it

So, the xm remains a toy for the odd evening drive, something to play with on the weekends and the odd trip where you want to raise some eyebrows or travel in something a little different, and the nissan for everything else :)

Im a sucker for heated leather seats though :P

I must confess quite a liking for a lot of Nissan stuff Vince, Micra very much excepted though and wouldn't mind a good look at a Kumquat.

I really like the Z cars 8-) All of them...

I just can't bear a a dull and characterless car at all and won't have one and that's one big thing that worries me about Nissans but I can't really see something like the Kumquat or especially the Juke being dull somehow..

I do wonder how their character stacks up against the XM though...

No, but he's the sort you don't bother arguing with as it's pointless. You know the type  He'll say the DCi badges refer to a trim level and have nothing to do with what engine is fitted...

Surely now though the DCi problems must be sorted?

If my daughters big black box on wheels is anything to go by they burn out clutches.
Hers went at just over 20k from new.
Nissan mechanic mentioned it was quite common.

Crikey..that's awful....or is it her driving style!

Oh dear Jim, ....poor deluded person...DCI being a trim level. Honestly.

no idea if Renault has seen sense with the DCI. Paul might know.
All I know is that at one point, every Renault on sale had a ticking time bomb under its bonnet. And if it wasn't mechanical, then the electrics were a pain.
