Re: Charles's 2.1 SD Manual (formerly Citroenxm's)
It's yet ANOTHER stupid MK. 2 backward thing.
yes se spec from 1992 had the cover in wood. The 24v manual did from the off.
my sei v6 12 v is all wood. The flap se ti on is completely removable from the centre console but it needs to come out then the 4 screws that holds the flaps and din ports comes out as one with the ash tray too..

Lastest joy - no screenwash is getting through to the windscreen, level filled recently. I can smell it so there is possibly a blockage somewhere. How do I get the black plastic trim that sits just beneath the windscreen off so I can have a look and a fiddle?

Press down on the ends of the scuttle panel with your fingers under the part against the wing to help release from the holding clips. These come away easy if you get it right and are a pain in the backside if you don't. Once off they will reveal two screws on either side, remove them and the scuttle panel can then be teased out. It's not a hard job but it's bloody fiddly.
You will now be able to see the washers and a whole lot more. Give it a clean out whilst it's off and pour water down the drain shoots to see if they are clear.

Managed to get the scuttle panel out, which made testing the drain shoots easier. Lots of water poured down, but that was into the washer bottle which swallowed 10 litres and regurgitated it out down below. So I think the problem is a shot water bottle. Judging by the location of the bottle the wing has to come off?

There's nothing to get shot unless vermin has chewd the pipe feed..
but Charles yes its a passenger wing off..
The bolt through the bumper needs removing accessed through the wheel arch front section.

If the field mice have been at it, there will be no more bird feeding and a cat will be deployed on sentry duty!

I had that all out Charles as the washer motors were both shot when I got the car and I replaced them. I don'tthink a seal would of gone.. unless the filler pipe has come out of the tank..

I had a clear pipe blow off the connector under the scuttle last year. Poured green washer fluid everywhere down the drain holes under the wheel arches. Gave me a slight shock till I smelt it...looks just like LHM!
Haven't got a blocked washer jet causing a pipe to shoot off a connection somewhere?

They usually block in the jet itself and removal and reverse blast through the jets usuallybest way to clear. The one way non return cconnector usually breaks to pieces

Re: Charles's 2.1 SD Manual (formerly Citroenxm's)
Heavy rain having just stopped play, my progress so far. Got the wing off and the tank was full of fluid, so no leak or broken pipe there. Black pipes through to the clear pipes all fine. The clear pipes somewhat silted up:

I left those in a milk pipe cleaning solution (it works on my cappucino maker!) to deal with the jets.
Blowing through the jets revealed the blockage there. So I removed both from their clear pipes, the plastic piping which joins the clear flexible pipe of one sheering off (old plastic now brittle) and using a stripped garden wire, just under 1 mm thick, to fiddle around in the jets I extracted a lot of gunk:

Then, using the cotton wool wadding from the end of a cotton bud and some thicker garden wire, pushed all the gunk through:

Finally, how to get the tiny part of the broken pipe back on - seeing the leftover blue plastic straw from the cotton buds - almost a perfect fit, so now splinted ready for the super glue. I'll need a replacement at some point.

Testing the drivers side jet, success! Loads of water now coming through.
