I have just helped Darren to dismantled a car that had quite large holes behind the front wheels in the same location as yours Paul. The initial impression was not to bad, but it turned out the metal was rotten behind the underseal in quite large areas on both sides. I think all XMs will eventually deteriorate in these locations. Does he still have the shell? Does it have decent metal other than the front wheel wells...sills especially?

It was there Monday at least Will but will go fairly soon I think! I did also check the sills that seemed pretty solid full-length. With regards, Matthew T.

Went to my local dealer yesterday to have a laugh.. ask about this rear quarter glass.. anyway the glass has gone NFP for the nearside but the off side is still available.. the price was though still 165 quid.

So looks like it will have to stop as it is for now. I've put a piece of metal behind the hole and filled the hole with silicone sealent for now to try keep it dry. .

Hi Paul,
It might be worth contacting Darren who had both quarter lights on his shell this time last week and I have sent you a PM. I guess the panels could be cut off plus the adjacent metal bits and then the glass carefully removed at some future date.

Oh dear, so does this mean we'll have to cherish and look after our near side rear quarter glass.
It would be so nice if the glass manufacturer would just carry on making all the windows so they could at least be available via them.

Very true. But a load of parts and with no cars to fit them on is worthless.
