yes... I think your right Eddie. But the chap did check their parts database. It was a long shot admittedly,and at least he confirmed they are still available.

I'm not entirely sure GSF do them. Can't seem to find them listed....but maybe someone can correct me.

A local bearings and seals supplier would probably do them if you had the size.

GSF wont do these... the stuff they stock now is for newer models and they wouldnt hold this kind of stuff into stock as it wouldnt sell en mass in the range

Youd be lucky if anyone there still knows what an xm is. I think i was one of the last people working there who had any clue on old french cars

I need to start exploring what Andrew Page do in the old Citroen range...for my own needs sake , but also to help you guys out too where i can

That would be very helpful. I would expect many on here would really appreciate that.

To be honest I did check briefly, but wasn't expecting GSF to have these O Rings. Anyway, if Citroen didn't have them then there is ZF. But as Will has pointed out, there are a few o ring suppliers that do them which are compatible with transmission fluid. Just need to find the right sizes now.

In the middle of a gearbox fluid renewal I found this....



An hole in the filter. only one skin the inner one. otherwise it is all fine. Is this okay to still use or should...as my brain is screaming telling me.... replace it!

Also guess what...no magnet. D'ho.

So, so far I have drained and cleaned everything and put it all back. I haven't put any fluid back in incase I do need to get a new filter and would like to get a magnet too. So it is immobile at the moment.

Put a new filter in it, definitely.

You could put it back in and refill if you want to use the car straight away. And treat the new oil you put in as flushing oil for hen you put the new filter and magnet in. Only consolation you have is that at least the ATF has been changed on your car at some stage!

The thinking is, the gearbox is a recon. It has markings on the case to suggest this. But not encouraging if the magnet was not put back and the filter has a hole. The only consolation is I simply haven't put a huge milage on it since getting it.
Anyway, the old fluid is out and the filter wasn't that mucky at all. The oil is black in the bowl, but red when smeared on paper towel and the dip stick. It certainly needs to be changed though. Annoying the filter is holey!

It'll just have to sit out there for now!
